Sal has collected her best ever result as a World Tour surfer finishing second in the TSB Bank Women's Surf Festival in Taranaki. Sal was beaten by Hawaiian rookie Carissa Moore who saved her best for the final scoring a 9.33 and a 9.83 early in the heat. Sal collected some solid scores too but didn't find the waves that allowed the kind of moves that would see her into the lead. It was another strong result for Sally who was the form surfer through the earlier rounds. Leading up to the final Sal had recorded the three highest single wave scores and the three highest combined heat scores. Sal has now made the final series at every stop this year. The girls will now head back to Australia for Stop 4 - the Commonwealth Bank Beachley Classic which will be staged at Dee Why. Be sure to stay tuned to sallyfitzgibbons.com for updates.
