The last stop on the ASP Women's World Tour for 2011 was the US Open at Huntington Beach. The waves are not always epic but the event presents a whole new set of challenges which keeps everyone coming back year after year. This year's event set a new record for crowds and to win was the highlight of my career.

Surfed my first heat of 2011 today and got a win. There were a few nerves there but there always is in the first event of the year! My first round match up was against Laura Enever and Claire Bevilaqua in kinda tricky high tide conditions at Snapper. I managed to throw together a heat score of 16.03 and held the lead from beginning of the heat to the end so I'm stoked. Funny thing happened during the heat… well, not funny at all really… a shark was spotted just behind me as I flicked off one of

When Enever failed to progress in the final heat of the day that left Sally with enough points to claim the ASP Women's Star Series for the second time.

Sally exited the Pantin Classic in Spain today after a priority interference call was controversially called against her early in the semi-final heat. We have nine stops on our World Tour this year and event four – the Commonwealth Bank Beachley Classic – kicked off yesterday. The event was moved from the main site at Dee Why around the corner to Curl Curl where there was some slightly bigger and more consistent waves. I got second in my first round heat, I wasn't too happy about it but I still progressed so I'll look to ramp things up in round 3. I want to send a
